After a couple crop drops, B-left gets up 6:17:56, wing stretch 6:19:26, PS 6:19:47 then some wing flaps, scratches head 6:21:06; B-right up 6:25:45, picks something up 6:26:48; B-right spreads wings 6:26:56 & B-right drops whatever that thing was; B-right wing stretches 6:27:04, moves to back rail for PS 6:27:27; B-right (now B-back) picks up a skeleton? as B-left (now B-front wingercizes 6:28:13; B-front head scratches 6:30:42; B-front lays down 6:35:20; B-back moves to front of nest 6:43:03 & lays down, crop drop 6:52:21; B-back wingercizes 6:52:47, hops around a bit & then hops up to Y-nook 6:53:43, flaps down to nest 6:54:03, grabs skeleton in left talon; IR light off 6:54:24; B8 gets up 7:07:03; M in FD w/small fish 7:06:23 & B8 gets it; B9 rushes in to try for the steal 7:06z:28; kids stand on both sides of the fish yelling and M takes it 7:07:05 & feeds them; B9 steals the fish 7:09:20; B8 tries to steal it 7:10:53; M to LB 7:11:34; M out 7:13:03; M in FD w/headless fish 8:25:56 & she feeds the eaglets; M out BD 8:36:50; with a hop, skip & a jump, B8 joins B9 on the front rails/branches 10:22:12; M in FD w/squirrel 11:39:36; Feeds B8 first bite then B9; B9 tugs squirrel away from M 11:50:48; M tugs back…lol; Squalking, B9 goes to Y nook 11:53:10; B8 swallows part of pelt 11:54:53; B9 gets more 12:06:22; M to LB 12:11:05; M out 12:11:17; B8 chews on band on cam 2 branch 12:30:03; B8 finds a nestover and takes it to the pantry and pulls it apart 12:34:51; B9 wingersizes on Y nook, hovers slightly over nest then back to Y nook 12:54:01; B9 hops back to nest 12:57:38; B8 chews on back branch from rt rail 12:57:56; D in FD w/fish 3:17:37 & feeds B9; B8 gets off the rails & moves up to be fed 3:20:29; D to LB 3:25:42 & out 3:25:49; M in BD w/ufo 4:28:12 (kids weren't very interested in the old roadkill); B9 attacks M's foot 4:54:23 (cam 2 16:50:40); M to LB 5:00:15 & out 5:00:31.

May 11, 2016 (Wed)

One kid spent the night on a branch, the other one was in the nest until 2:07 a.m. (06:31:45) and then he hopped up on the left Y branch. One came down to nest at 6:37 (11:02:25) moved sticks and called for food. The other one was in the nest at 7:02 (11:27:14), and both were back on branches by 7:08 a.m.

Mom in back door (almost got pushed off the nest) with squirrel at 7:08, both kids mantle and have a tug-o-war over it. Mom out 7:10 a.m. B6 got it, B7 finally got a little sketti at 7:44 a.m.

Three more squirrel were brought in for the kids; one more from Dad, and two from Mom. Lots of mantling and several Tug-O-Wars. Mom even loses a feather. Huge crops were visible.

It was a very busy day, but certainly not a good one for squirrels.

March 2016

3/1 - Dad brought in a LIVE fish!

3/2 - Mom feeds the babies a sketti breakfast.

3/3 - One eaglet flaps his wings. Both parents were on the nest together for a couple of minutes this morning. Dad does some morning housekeeping and brings in a fish. He brings in an afternoon coot and Mom defeathers.

3/4 - Early morning PS by one of the eaglets. Mom brings in a pine bough to freshen up the nest. Video: Pine Time

3/5 - Fish to eat and pellets cast; sleeping babies. Mom brings in pine and Dad places it. Dad eats some leftovers and feeds the babies. 11:18 a.m. one PS's and gets some on Mom in the process. Wing flapping. Mom gulps down a fish tail. Babies in the evening sun. Mom almost gets PS'd on again. 

3/6 - Wing action from Mom when she gets up and heads to the pantry. Dad delivers a live fish. Family feeding today, and one P even feeds the other P a few bites. Both eaglets have huge crops tonight!

3/7 - Mom does a little morning yoga and the eaglets do a little bonking. One eaglet casts a pellet. Grass is spread all around the eaglets and all you can see is their heads. Mom brings in a stick and a little stick war ensues. Evening finds Mom gulping down a fish tail. Video: Pellet Be Gone 

3/8 - Mom brings in a pine cone branch and covers the eaglets with it. One eaglet tries desperately to cast a pellet. Dad brings in coot and Mom sends feathers flying everywhere. Mom devours the coot feet. Dad moves the pine cone branch and one eaglet pecks at Dad's tail. Video: Dad's Tail 

3/9 - Dad flies in with both claws full of grass and dumps it one eaglet. Video: Cover Up

3/10 - One of the eaglets moves a stick. Mom is really agitated in the evening, and she has a mishap when coming to the nest. Video: Mom's Crash Landing 

3/11 - Mom and the kids enjoying the sun.

3/30 - Rocky prancing around in the wee morning hours. One baby tries to cast a pellet and both babies flapped around and played. Dad brought in a couple of fish. Dad picks a small bird out from the left rail. Stunning photograph of Dad taken by Steve Salmon.
