10/3/16 - Some Time Is Better Than No Time. After
being absent from the nest for a few days, it was good to see Mom and Dad. Dad
worked around in the nest bole while Mom supervised.
10/4/16 - Dirty Beaks. Mom spent a lot of alone time on the nest this
morning, presumably waiting for Dad to show up. They both showed up in the
evening sporting dirty beaks.
10/5/16 - Mighty Mom. Dad
was on the nest momentarily in the wee morning hours. Mom shows her mighty
prowess with a huge branch. Both Ps made brief appearances in the evening.
10/7/16 - First Sleep-Over. This is one chat viewer who was delighted that Mom and Dad finally spent the night together in the nest tree. Pure sweetness.
10/8/16 - Someone To Watch Over Me. Dad
watches over his beautiful gal during the windy night. Ps gone by 7:30am, and
return in the evening.
10/9/16 - Two A Piece. Mom
and Dad arrived at the nest this evening at different times and missed each
other by minutes, but they finally met up a little bit later. Each brought a
stick in, so the score is even for the night.
10/11/16 - Twigs, Sticks, and Branches, Oh My! Lots
of sticks and stuff brought in today mostly by Mom. A brief stick war, Mom
bites Dad's tail, and Ps stop by in the evening.
10/12/16 - Breakfast Served. Dad
delivers duck feet to Mom for breakfast. Sticks brought in, stick tussle,
peering at the sky, Dad nicks a rail when leaving, Mom struggles with placing a
branch just right, and Ps stop by for a quick evening visit.
10/14/16 - First Fluff Brought In. Both
Mom and Dad bring in sticks; Mom sports a dirty beak, she gives the camera
stare, does a little preening, and brings in the first "fluff"
(grass) of the season. Dad decorates.
10/15/16 - Decorating Day. Mom
and Dad were busy all morning bringing in sticks and decorating the nest. At
one point, Dad had to hop up on the rail to get out of Mom's way as she was
wielding a branch around. They had a little stick tussle or two, Dad had an
unusual departure, and Mom sported the Phyllis Diller hair-do because of the
windy conditions.
10/16/16 - Dad Snaps. Mom
and Dad both brought in some sticks early in the morning and did some
housework. We didn't see Mom for the rest of the day after she left just before
8:00am, but Dad returned to the nest several times. He moved sticks, snapped
and cleaned them with his beak. Busy Boy!
10/18/16 - Morning Chores. Very
busy morning for our Ps with one or the other coming and going bringing in
sticks and nestorizing.
10/23/16 - Best Action Yet - Part I and Best Action Yet - Part II. Mom
and Dad worked so hard this morning, it was hard to keep track of their comings
and goings and how many sticks branches they brought to the nest; not to
mention the mini stick wars they had.
10/25/16 - Dad's Tree Dilemma. After
spending the night together in the nest tree, Dad leaves early and Mom sits and
waits for him. Later in the morning, Dad returns with a TREE and diligently
works on it. A little bird visits the nest. Dad returns in the evening, and
with a feather stuck in his nare, he perches on the right branch for the night alone.
10/26/16 - Greenery - Part I and Greenery - Part II. Dad
starts the day off early, and greenery was the word of the day with the Ps
either bringing it in, or placing it properly in the nest. Of course, each of
them had their own idea of where the greenery should go.
10/28/16 - Dad Flies With The Thunderbirds. The
United States Air Force Thunderbirds were practicing for an air show, but that
didn't stop Dad from making a couple deliveries. Rocky takes a flying leap.
10/29/16 - Tandem Entrance. P's
made a grand entrance when they entered the nest this afternoon. Dad did a
little nestorizing and stayed in the nest for a bit after Mom left.
10/31/16 - Back To Normal. After
the air show excitement the past few days, things got back to normal at the old
home nest. Dad brought in several sticks during the day, he gave the bole a
quick try-out; and Mom moved a big stick in the evening.
