June 10, 2016

None of the Berry's showed up today, although Rocky leaped across the nest at 1:56am, and a great crested flycatcher made a brief appearance at 8:17am. The shadow of large bird was seen flying by at 2:42pm.

June 9, 2016 (Thu)

Coyotes howling at 4:02am. B6 flies by twice, B6 lands on outer left branch and comes in the left side of nest at 6:45am. After playing with sticks, B6 goes to the left branch at 6:46am and leaves at 6:47am. Great crested flycatcher on nest for supplies at 8:24am. Mom in front door with a fish at 2:34pm; she takes off out the back door after eating the fish at 3:17pm. Possible fly by close to Approach cam 8:17-ish. 

This was the last day we saw B6 :(

B6 in left branch 6:29am and to nest, B6 out back left side 6:31am. Mom in front door with fish at 9:25, starts eating fish at 9:38; flycatcher watches Mom eat 9:58. Both B’s in at 10:13 a.m.; B7 returned in the afternoon for a little rest on the nest. Both B’s back at 2:47 p.m., looked like they were wondering when the food would be delivered. One B left, and the other lies down. Mom quickly delivered at fish at 4:32 and the kids came in right behind. B7 gets the fish, B6 gets Mom’s foot. Rocky was seen at 11:53 p.m.

May 20, 2016 (Fri)

Dad came in the side door at 6:20 a.m., ate some nest-over squirrel, looked around, and was out by 6:26 a.m. B7 flew in from the left at 7:00. B7 messed around with the squirrel carcass, and was tracking at 7:16; he went up to a branch and out with the carcass in his beak at 7:18. Dad comes in the side door with a fish at 8:00, and both the B's came in screeing right behind him, first B7 then B6. B6 steals fish. Dad makes a hasty departure at BRB 8:01. There was a tug-o-stick at 8:18. B7 went to the back branch; not sure if and when he left. Dad returns with half of a fish at 9:04. B7 in the front door and Dad out the back door at 9:05. B7 to left branch 9:19 then to nest and out 9:21. Something flies by in background at 9:24. B6 to left branch 9:29, out 9:31. Goldfinch or Pine Warbler at 10:40. B7 in left side 1:40 p.m., lays down to rest his tired talons. B7 out back door 1:49. B7 back in left side door 1:56; B6 in left branch 1:59pm. B7 squeed at B6 as if she was supposed to be bringing in lunch or he is complaining; another tussle 2:00 (17:34:37). B6 out left branch 2:04. B7 stayed a while and took a nap, jumped up to left side of nest at 2:54 and out upper left side of nest at 2:55. Pine Warbler to nest-depot to get more supplies at 5:26. B7 in left branch 6:15pm, B6 in left branch 6:16; B's tussled 6:17 over nothing, or maybe a fish bone? B6 out left branch 6:26 and B7 followed a minute later. B6 in front door 8:38, goes to back branch 8:39. B7 in side door 8:44. B6 in left branch 8:44 and down to nest at 8:45. B6 to left branch 8:47; B7 to right branch 9:10 p.m. B7 back to nest 10:11 p.m.

April 26, 2016 (Tues)

6:30 a.m. found one kid sitting and the other one still taking it easy. A couple minutes later, the one kid (probably B6) did some flapping and started working on some nestovers. He branches in the Y at 6:36 a.m., and by 7:00 a.m., he's out of view. By this time, B7 is up and working on the nestovers and does a little flapping. He perches in the Y at 7:02. Mom came in the front door at 7:03 (165:04:16) with something to eat, but it couldn't be seen from Cam 1 (since found out from Sasha that it was a fish). B7 was closest when Mom came in and got the food; however, B6 gets around to stealing what little there was left. Mom went to the LB and out at 7:04 a.m. (165:05:19). After she left, the kids perched on the Y branch.

Mom came back at 10:04 (168:04:59) with a small bird. Looked like B6 got it. Mom out LY 10:18 (168:19:38). Whoever was perched on the LB did a great fly down to the nest at 11:08 a.m.

Mom in BD with a HUGE fish at 1:23 p.m. (171:24:15). Mom starts feeding one kid as the other makes his way down the LB. All three still eating at 1:42. One is self-feeding. Mom and one kid are finally done eating around 1:44; the other kid was still pigging out. There was still a big piece left at 1:46. The one not eating has a healthy PS at 1:48 and then goes to the Y branch. 1:58 and the one is STILL eating. At around 2:02, Mom went back to nibbling and feeding the little piggy. She finally left out the FD at 2:09 (172:10:36).

At 7:02, one kid makes a big hop off the branch to the nest where he proceeded to play with the fish head, grabbing it with his talon and carrying it around. A little later, the other kid played with the fish head, only to lose it over the side of the nest. He makes a quick recovery with a big hop to the other side of the nest.
