March 2016

3/1 - Dad brought in a LIVE fish!











3/2 - Mom feeds the babies a sketti breakfast.











3/3 - One eaglet flaps his wings. Both parents were on the nest together for a couple of minutes this morning. Dad does some morning housekeeping and brings in a fish. He brings in an afternoon coot and Mom defeathers.

3/4 - Early morning PS by one of the eaglets. Mom brings in a pine bough to freshen up the nest. Video: Pine Time

3/5 - Fish to eat and pellets cast; sleeping babies. Mom brings in pine and Dad places it. Dad eats some leftovers and feeds the babies. 11:18 a.m. one PS's and gets some on Mom in the process. Wing flapping. Mom gulps down a fish tail. Babies in the evening sun. Mom almost gets PS'd on again. 

3/6 - Wing action from Mom when she gets up and heads to the pantry. Dad delivers a live fish. Family feeding today, and one P even feeds the other P a few bites. Both eaglets have huge crops tonight!

3/7 - Mom does a little morning yoga and the eaglets do a little bonking. One eaglet casts a pellet. Grass is spread all around the eaglets and all you can see is their heads. Mom brings in a stick and a little stick war ensues. Evening finds Mom gulping down a fish tail. Video: Pellet Be Gone 

3/8 - Mom brings in a pine cone branch and covers the eaglets with it. One eaglet tries desperately to cast a pellet. Dad brings in coot and Mom sends feathers flying everywhere. Mom devours the coot feet. Dad moves the pine cone branch and one eaglet pecks at Dad's tail. Video: Dad's Tail 

3/9 - Dad flies in with both claws full of grass and dumps it one eaglet. Video: Cover Up

3/10 - One of the eaglets moves a stick. Mom is really agitated in the evening, and she has a mishap when coming to the nest. Video: Mom's Crash Landing 






3/11 - Mom and the kids enjoying the sun.








3/30 - Rocky prancing around in the wee morning hours. One baby tries to cast a pellet and both babies flapped around and played. Dad brought in a couple of fish. Dad picks a small bird out from the left rail. Stunning photograph of Dad taken by Steve Salmon.










3/31 The kids tracking something
high in the sky.
