May 2016 Videos (TNT)

5/5/16 - Big Air (Both B's caught some good air this evening, showing off with their hovering techniques.)

5/8/16 - B7's Tree Top Hover (Berry College determined this to be a fledge) (Whether intentional or not, B7 flapped his way to the top of the nest tree and beyond, hovering above the branches, seemingly having the time of his life.)

5/9/16 - B6 Fledges (at around 11:04 a.m. (86 days old) - (B6 has a misstep 1:43 a.m. Dad in with fish 3:19 p.m., B7 gets it all since B6 was still out on his/her adventure. Dad moves around quite a bit in the nest and a couple of the branches, seemingly looking for B6; he leaves after about 10 minutes. B6 returns to the nest at 4:25 p.m.; he first went to a low branch then up into the nest. Dad comes back at 5:09 p.m. with some kind of rodent; perhaps a squirrel. B6 gets the rodent. Dad leaves a couple of minutes later. It was heartwarming to have both of the B’s in the nest together again.)

5/12/16 - B7 Fledges (at 10:15 a.m. (88 days old) - (and B6 follows a couple minutes later.)

5/26/16 - Love My Squirrel Tail (Dad delivers a couple of fish in the morning. B7 gets the first fish all to himself, and the second fish too, only to have B6 do a butt steal. Mom brings in a squirrel in the afternoon; B7 loses the tail over the nest edge, but Mom comes to the rescue.)

5/27/16 - B7's Successful Steal (Fish delivery by Dad; B7 plants himself in the middle of the nest and calls out, most likely for food; Mom delivers a squirrel for lunch, B7 attempts a steal and fails, he tries again a little bit later and is successful.)

5/28/16 - B6's Hissy Fit (As dawn approaches, you can see B6 alone on a branch. Upon entering the nest, he plays with a pine cone. A tussle ensues as both kids try to enter the nest. B6 spends some alone time on the nest. Mom delivers a fish in the afternoon and B6 follows her in to claim the prize. He does not want to share with Mom and throws a hissy fit.)

5/29/16 - Big Time Toe Tussle (B6 arrives early to the nest, sits around, plays with branches, and leaves about 20 minutes later; B6 returns at 7:30 a.m., but only stays for a couple of minutes. Mom brings in fish for breakfast at 10:37 a.m., and B7 shows up a minute later. B7 devours the fish, decides Mom's toes are fair game and gets downright mean; pulling and tugging on poor Mom's foot. Dad surprises us with a late night visit at 9:06 a.m., and B6 perches on a branch behind the nest tree as if to see what Dad was up to.)

5/30/16 - B6, The Homebody (The Berry chatters and viewers waited patiently throughout the day for just one more glimpse of the family, to no avail. And then surprisingly, B6, the little homebody, showed up before dark.)

5/31/16 - B6's Fish Fest (B6 spent the night on the back LB, down to nest at 6:12 a.m. calling out, leaves the nest at 6:20 a.m. Both Dad and Mom bring in fish and B6 devours them. A lonely pine cone drops down into the nest.)
