Lucky Bel is at the nest today, so in her absence, some of us have tried to compile the log. Here's what we have:
B6 in
left branch 6:31am, to nest, to left branch/out 6:48am. Per lacamper, a
bluebird was seen on the nest and also a GCF on nest.
Back to
Bel: I'll be headed toward Berry in 15 - 20 mins. No birdies home, hope one
shows up! I take that back, there is one eaglet here.
Per
Sasha - B6 returns home left Y branch 7:30; seeing that no breakfish has been
served, B6 looks through every door and window for her family, she heads out
the back door 7:32.
Per BEL
- B6 Flew out past the Krannert Center around 8:10 and was flying low, so she
may be perched in some trees somewhere back there. Flew out past the Krannert
Center again around 10:08, I'm assuming that was B6, since Alex said they
hadn't seen B7 since yesterday morning.
Per
Jerri - 11:12am, B6 left the left branch headed low straight for the parking
lot!
Per Bel
- Then B7 is tucked in behind a couple of pine boughs on their favorite tree.
Mom flew straight toward the river when she left the mast. She didn't stop to
perch for us.
Per
Sasha - Mom in left Y branch with fish 10:37; overworked and overheated, Mom
starts to make room for incoming squeeing B7 in left side 10:38; B7 begging Mom
to stay and give him seconds 10:58; after she counts her talons and takes about
all the abuse to her left foot she can handle, Mom runs OUT right Y branch at
11:00. B7 calls out, hoping it was a sorry to Mom 11:12; left Y branch 11:12,
PS to lighten his load {wink}, and then out.
Per Bel
- B6 came in and soared around for a bit then landed in a tree behind the nest
tree. Then he flew over and took B7's perch. B7 flew beside or behind Krannert.
After perching for about 15 minutes, B6 left toward the river. B6 came in about
10 minutes ago soared for long time landed on their favorite perch. A RTH came
down and hit him and then left. All is good, B6 is still sitting on his perch
squalking.
Per
Sasha - Mom in left Y branch with a big fish 4:52; can hear ground crew 4:53;
Mom starts to eat head and cracks it open and B6 squee's all the way home to
the left Y branch 4:54; as Mom zones out the noise protruding from B6’s beak
and looks at parking lot after hearing a loud laugh from viewing area 4:54
thinking to herself, what's so funny? You want to come up here and deal with
sassiness, overbearing attitude and get bit on your chest? As Mom watches those
big nosed peeps below, she is deciding a good plan of action for payback for
such laughter at her expense. B6 beakdives into HER fish and talking with a
beakful the whole time. After listing to B6's trumpet, clarinet, high pitched
tone, like nails on a chalkboard for over an hour, Mom decides to keep her
hearing and sanity and jumps to the left Y branch 6:22: B6 follows behind
shortly after to the left Y branch 6:25; Dad in back door 9:06; Dad to left
branch and out 9:11; at 9:10, B6 lands behind nest in another tree.
